Here it is January....and no snow! It is coming though I hear! The girls keep asking when it will snow-they want to go sledding again! :) I have the "spring cleaning bug" already. The Christmas stuff is all put away....actually I evicted the tree the day after Christmas and the decorations (except the outside lights...that is Philip's job) were put away January 1st! Now I am going through all of the extra "stuff" room by room. We have already made one trip to Goodwill and will be making several more plus a trip to the dump too maybe! I always like to do this during the cold winter months so that when the warmer weather hits-we can be outside!
Rebekah started her new gymnastics class this week. WOW! An hour and a half of training and teaching her "real" gymnastics....no more "play time" during gymnastics! She loved it-but she was very tired when we got home. She has class from 6:00-7:30 pm on Tuesdays. They even have uniform leotards and "perform"! She will "performing" before a gymnastics meet this month and then at one of the malls in March :) It will be exciting to see if this is what she really wants to excell in. She definitely has the strength and the energy!
Elizabeth can't wait to start swimming lessons-now that she is pretty much potty trained. We told her when she was trained she could take swimming lessons like Rebekah did. She talks about swimming all by herself....without Mommy! I guess I need to be calling the Y to get her signed up!
Sarah is working every day but she still makes time to be "the best big sister" to Rebekah and Elizabeth! They love it when she gets home....they usually have a game picked out for them to play together. Or they "hang out" in her bedroom with her :)
Matt and Shannon are enjoying married life..between Matt working 2 jobs and going to school full time and Shannon working full time...they definitely make the most of the time they have together! They even make time to stop by and see us frequently! Of course Rebekah and Elizabeth immediately want to play tag with Matt....their favorite thing to do with him! And then they ask Shannon for gum...she is the "giver of gum" they think :)
Philip is waiting for the "January thaw" to do some more siding on the south side of the house....hoping that it will be warmer on that side! He really wants to have it done by spring.
That's pretty much the January update.

Hey mom! Well this is going to be a long comment but you were complaing about people not commenting on your blog;) and i was going to type this out for you and give it to you but I thought I'd surprise you and just leave you a comment! So you know that I'm reading the book "Loving life as an at-home mom" even though I'm not a mom/wife yet, ya know in preperation of the future;) But there was a spot that really reminded me of you. So here it is:
"Imagine that you are meeting Jesus upon your entrance to heaven. He smiles warmly and says, 'Welcome, blessed child of My Father. Come and enjoy the kingdom I have prepared for you. For I skinned My knee and you cleaned and bandaged it. I missed the bus at school and you came and picked me up...' (I forgot my homework at home and you brought it to me, my heart was broken by friends and you let me cry on your shoulder, I needed someone to vent on and you just smiled, nodded and listened, I needed someone to laugh with me and you made me laugh, I needed someone to help me wash my hands and you lifted me up, I needed someone to change my diaper and you changed me ..... I could go on and on ;) but I wont) 'Wait a minute, Lord,' you might interrupt. 'I never bandaged Your knee, or picked You up from school.' And he replies, 'Oh, yes you did. Whatever you did in loving ministry to your husband and children, you did to me."
Matthew 25:35-36 "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."
Mom- I know some days you are probably tired and don't feel like being "super mom" anymore but remember that whenever you're serving your family you're actually serving your King. I love you mom. You're an amazing mom, woman and sister in Christ. I am learning how to be a mom and wife from only the best! I love you- your dolly.
Hey hey! Welp I thought I'd leave you a comment just saying hey there!
